Johnson’s Day Care & Cradle Care strives to cultivate an inclusive environment for children of all ages to grow and thrive in. Our highly trained staff, low teacher/child ratios, specialized curriculum, and parent-contracted therapy services. Our infant daycare is located in Muscle Shoals, AL, and serves families throughout Colbert, Lauderdale, Franklin, and Lawrence counties.
Our History
Since 1979, Sheila Johnson has owned and directed Johnson’s Day Care & Cradle Care. Composed of dedicated staff and teachers, we are willing to give our time, talents, and enthusiasm to ensure our center is fiscally sound and maintains the industry’s highest standards. For over 40 years, we have provided an inclusive and fun learning environment for children throughout Muscle Shoals and beyond!

In 1970, I opened my first preschool for small children. I taught the class three mornings each week during the school year. I immensely enjoyed working with young children and families. In late 1978, I realized that my community would benefit from a small State licensed early care and education center. My first center was on Mulberry Street in Tuscumbia. Then in 1984, I expanded to Muscle Shoals to become the first licensed center located in the growing city. At that time, Ann Basden and Ellen Stell decided to add a second Cradle Care for infants and toddlers to the center. I have 51 years of experience in young children’s early care and education.
