Johnson’s Day Care & Cradle Care offers programs for ages ranging from infancy to school-age. We allow our students to grow with personalized teaching and low student-to-teacher ratios in our interactive learning environment. For over 40 years, our preschool has served families throughout Muscle Shoals, AL, and surrounding communities.
Our Curriculum
At Johnson’s Day Care & Cradle Care, we focus on child-centered learning, developmentally appropriate practices, and the belief that ‘play is a child’s work.’ Our goal is to develop each child’s confidence and life-long learning skills in our program. To support this goal, we use a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
The curriculum is based on objectives for development and learning that focus on all the most critical areas for success. Objectives are built into every classroom activity, which means that the teacher helps your child develop skills and knowledge in these critical areas all day long.
Our Programs
Nursery
We recommend this program for infants between three weeks to twelve months. Our gentle, caring staff makes sure that your baby is safe, secure, and happy with us. We offer highly personalized care for infants by maintaining small ratios between our team and children.
Tumblers
Our Tumblers program consists mainly of toddlers between 12 months to 18 months. Thanks to our dedicated, experienced, and compassionate staff, we offer small classrooms with a ratio of 1:5 to ensure that your child gets the focus they deserve. We encourage inclusivity, kindness, and fun learning experiences in this program.
18 Months- 2 ½ Year Olds
This program’s classroom consists of 7-14 children with one or two teachers, always maintaining a ratio of 7:1 or 14:2. At this age, we encourage self-discovery, independence, and confidence.
Two- Three Year Old’s
This program consists of 8-16 children with two teachers who consistently maintain a ratio of 8:1. Your toddlers will develop and learn new things about themselves and the world with exciting daily activities. We provide enriching hands-on activities and lessons to help our students build their confidence.
Three-Four Year Old’s
This class typically consists of 11-22 children, one or two teachers, always maintaining a ratio of 1:11. We prepare our three to four-year-olds for the next big step in their educational journey– going to kindergarten! Our preschool program encourages confidence and independence as your child’s cognitive, social, and physical growth continues.
Preschool
Children must be four years old by September 1 to be enrolled in this classroom. Typically 18 children with two teachers with a ratio of 1:9 are always maintained. Our preschool program helps prepare our students for “big kid” school with new, fun educational challenges and opportunities for growth!
