The Admissions Process

Children are eligible for admission at the age of three weeks. The admission process begins with a tour of the school. Children are enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis, depending on the most developmentally appropriate class availability. If there is no availability in the most appropriate class, children are placed on an interest list.

Registration & Requirements for Enrollment

After parents are notified of the admission date, you must complete the Enrollment Application and pay the non-refundable registration fee. On your child’s first day of attending Johnson’s Day Care & Cradle Care, our office needs:

A completed Enrollment Application, including Schedule & Tuition Agreement
A signed Enrollment Agreement
A completed set of enrollment paperwork
Completed medical action plan (if applicable)

What are your screen time policies?

The center complies with the regulations and procedures of Alabama Child Care Licensing and Performance Standards for Day Care Centers that were revised on September 13, 2021. The Pre-K and school-age classrooms have Ipads and computer screen times with limited-time access. Children ages 2 – 3 are limited to 30 minutes a day as long as it is for educational purposes or physical activities. Infants and toddlers are not allowed screen time.

How do you assess your students?

Child assessment is a vital component of all high-quality early childhood programs. Each classroom has selected an assessment program to measure child outcomes. An assessment plan is an ongoing observational assessment tool based upon years of feedback from thousands of educators. Our staff members are trained in using the plan, which includes the purpose and value of assessment and appropriate assessment tools.
